70th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (Silver)
To commemorate the 70th birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Cayman Islands Currency Board issued a limited edition of silver proof $5 coins. Born on April 26th, 1926, Queen Elizabeth II became Heir Presumptive ten years later and ascended to the throne in February 1952 following the death of her father, King George VI.
The coin, designed by Royal Mint engraver Norman Sillman, depicts the Queen on horseback during the Trooping the Colour, a vibrant and historic parade held each June.
